One of the Two Turks That Can Obtain a Dangerous Subtance Safety Certificate Is TLS Logistics

Companies are required to employ at least one specialist according to the ADR regulation. Among the Turks who were identified by various logistics companies from our country and sent to take the exam in London for the specialization certification, only two people were able to pass this difficult exam. One of them is Ali Şar from TLS Logistics.

According to Article 33 of the Regulation on the Transport of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR), published in the Official Gazette by the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications on October 24, 2013, companies are required to employ a dangerous goods safety adviser or use the services of a dangerous goods safety adviser. Among the Turks identified by various companies from our country and sent to take the exam in London for the specialization certification, only two people came out who could pass the exam. One of them was Ali Şar from TLS Logistics.

Şar will provide internal training for TLS employees on this topic by the end of 2014.

Every company that carries out transportation with companies that ship, pack, load, fill and unload dangerous goods by road is required to employ a “DGSA” (Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor) by September 1, 2014.

In this regard, a 5-member aspirant staff formed by TLS Logistics first underwent the training at TUGEM. It then passed the examination together with the aspirants from other companies to obtain the DGSA certification in London. Only two people from Turkey were able to pass this exam, and one of them was Ali Şar, Special Projects Manager at TLS Logistics. There are very few experts with DGSA certification in Turkey. According to TUGEM, TLS is currently the company that makes the most investments and attaches great importance to this issue.

The CEO of TLS Logistics, Altuğ Hacıalioğlu, commented on this issue as follows: “As TLS, we are a company that invests a lot in security and attaches importance to it. At the same time, as TLS Logistics, we have accelerated our investments in the transportation of chemical tank containers to become a regional power in the Middle Geography, which consists of the Middle East, Russia, and the Turkish Republics. Hazardous materials also play an important part in our activities. Due to the nature of this business, safety is always our most important agenda item. DGSA is a very new and challenging field, and there are not even 20 experts in this field in Turkey. TLS Logistics employ one of these experts. However, we would like to have more DGSA experts in our team.”
